Full Overlay Installation
Kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities with full overlay doors/drawers come with a small clearance between doors/drawers and cabinet edges. If a cabinet should be installed next to a wall or other surface (e.g. dishwasher end panel), we recommend adding at least 1/4" additional clearance to allow doors/drawers open smoothly. The 1/4" is the minimum recommended space. However, some applications will require a bigger distance depending on hardware and other project requirements. You can use a scribe molding or wall/base fillers to fill the gaps. Generally, the additional spacing is not required in between cabinets unless they are different depth (e.g. a 12" deep wall cabinet next to a 24" deep oven cabinet).
About Specifications
Specifications are subject to change without notice. Cabinet dimensions are typically converted from the metric system to the imperial system and manufacturers will frequently round up to the nearest 1/4 inch which is within normal industry standards. Feel free to contact us with any questions about cabinet styles and specifications.
